The Monogahela to Perform Live at UNIFY FEST 2017!

The Monogahela is an electronic music composer and performer based out of Durango, CO, USA. The project formed in 2014 by Nathan Williams, producing multi-genre bass and electronic music in a range of tempos, often blending eclectic organics and cosmic soundscapes with dub and world fusion.

Since his 2015 debut EP, “Late Night Indica” set his musical trajectory in motion, the composer and producer has released two albums and has shared the stage with notable acts such as Ott, Random Rab, Illenium, Phutureprimitive, Govinda, among other talented and popular artists in today’s electronic music scene.

Nathan began his journey into music at as a young child, clanking on the family piano, toy guitars, and cheap Casio keyboards. At the age of 12, his parents bought him his first electric guitar and enrolled him in lessons, where he learned scales, modes, and concepts of different genres and techniques. He was disciplined and inseparable from his instrument, and as a student, was offered a scholarship to a 5-week guitar workshop at Berkley, MA. But as a rebellious teenager, he joined a thrash-metal band with his friends instead, in which he was introduced to a stage without the creative control of the of school based performances. Thus the “Creative Alias” was born.

Before The Monogahela, there was Ts3. Ts3 was Nathan’s true journey into music production. Gradually he transitioned in musical tastes, experimented with sampling, and finding inspiration from movie soundtracks, and the mellow yet profound sounds of artists M83, J Dilla, Blue Sky Black Death, and Royksopp. Following the big wave of dubstep, his interests began to shift into composing electronic bass music, where his previously “indie vibe” collided with the griminess of today’s electronic sounds. Ts3 was a raw learning experience, not only in music production and developing an overall direction and sound, but as performing as a live electronic act.
