Tess is an Internationally recognized body, mind and spirit practioner. She has studied various movement practices as a means of transformational healing for over 33 years. Her movement explorations and studies include Korean/Hawaiian/Modern/Ecstatic/Five Rhythms Dance , Yoga, Nia, Pilates, Maritial Arts, Western Style Body Sculpting, Gymnastic, and Inner Energy Movement through Pranayama. Along with her diverse movement practices, she recently completed a Korean style massage method called “Kyung Rak.” Tess teaches movement as the way to find inner freedom in the body, mind, and heart. She knows the body as the medium for transformative alchemy and healing of the psyche. Tess’s personal journey has shown her that the body has the power to heal itself physically and psychologically through movement.
During an early phase of her career, Tess’s undivided dedication to her body sculpting practice led to an invitation to compete in a nationally televised (ESPN) fitness competition. She went on to compete successfully in 13 fitness competitions nationally and internationally, and earned many titles. Tess was a runner up in the Natural Olympia Physique Competition where she had to win 3 preliminaries prior to the final competition that pitted her against winners from all 50 US states.
Her success in fitness competitions led her into television and film work as a fitness expert in Hawaii and her native Korea. She also served as a preventive health counselor for the Hawaiian Medical Service Association.
